Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you're wondering, answered honestly.
Starting therapy comes with questions — about money, about fit, about whether any of this actually works. Here are the ones we hear most. Anything else? Ask us directly.
Ask a questionIf something in your life feels stuck, heavy, or confusing — your mood, your relationships, your sleep, your motivation — therapy can help. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis. Many clients simply want a clearer head and steadier heart.
Standard sessions run 50 minutes. Couples and family sessions can extend to 75 minutes when there's more ground to cover. We'll agree on the rhythm that fits your goals and schedule.
Individual sessions are $140, couples and family sessions $170. We accept most major insurance plans and offer a limited number of reduced-fee spots. See our fees page for full details.
Yes. Secure video sessions are available across Minnesota, with the same therapists, the same 50 minutes, and the same care as in-person visits at our Stillwater clinic.
We draw on proven methods — cognitive-behavioral, emotionally focused, and mindfulness-based therapy — and tailor them to you. Practical, warm, and always collaborative.
Most clients see meaningful change in 8–16 sessions. We review progress every sixth session and plan your ending from the start — our goal is to work ourselves out of a job, kindly.
Yes. Everything you share stays between you and your therapist, with rare legal exceptions (risk of serious harm, abuse of a minor, or a court order) that we'll explain clearly at your first visit.
Absolutely — and no awkwardness required. Fit predicts outcomes more than method does, so we'd rather rematch you inside the clinic than lose you. Just tell us; we handle it warmly.
